[custom_adv] A new record was set by the mountain descent in swimsuits on Saturday at the ski resort of Sheregesh. [custom_adv] A total of 1,525 brave skiers and snowboarders in bikinis and bathing shorts descended from Mount Zelenaya. Last year, 1,496 people took part in the "naked" descent. [custom_adv] A mountain descent in bathing suits is one of the most spectacular events of GrelkaFest 2018, which was held in the Russian ski resort of Sheregesh on April 6-15. [custom_adv] Thousands of people also took part in numerous activities including the Holi festival of colors, ski jumping and snowboarding, a beauty contest and a number of concerts. [custom_adv] In 2018, the festival participants decided to attempt to beat last year’s record by descending the mountain en masse in bikinis. [custom_adv] Whether they succeeded in this will become known later, when representatives of the Book of Records of Russia learn the exact number of participants. [custom_adv] The organizers of the event said that around 2,400 people from 16 to 70 years old applied join in and over 1,000 actually showed up, breaking the previous record set in Siberia. [custom_adv] The descent went smoothly, without any incident as it was headed by professional ski instructors. [custom_adv] Organizers are now waiting for the confirmation from the Guinness World Records commission. [custom_adv] Meanwhile live music, snow sculptures, movies, performances and global après ski parties fill the resort, as part of the ongoing BoogelWoogel carnival.
