[custom_adv] Jasmin Moghbeli (born June 24, 1983 MAJ, USMC) is an Marine Corps test pilot and NASA astronaut. [custom_adv] She is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Naval Postgraduate School, and U.S. Naval Test Pilot School, and has over 1,600 hours of flight time and 150 combat missions. [custom_adv] Jasmin Moghbeli was born on June 24, 1983 in Bad Nauheim, Germany, to Fereshteh and Kamy Moghbeli. [custom_adv] Her parents had fled following the 1979 revolution, and moved the family Baldwin, New York. [custom_adv] Moghbeli graduated from Baldwin Senior High School, and attended Advanced Space Academy at Space Camp while a high school student. [custom_adv] Moghbeli earned a bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering with Information Technology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and played basketball for the MIT Engineers. [custom_adv] Moghbeli commissioned as a US Marine Corps officer, and trained to become an AH-1 Super Cobra pilot. She deployed three times, and completed 150 combat missions.
