 Loris Haykasi Tjeknavorian (born 13 October 1937 in Borujerd) is a composer and conductor. He is one of the most celebrated cultural figures in Armenia and Iran.During this period he also conducted the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, and performed at the San Francisco Opera House, the Contemporary Music Festival and at the Vienna Music Festival in Hong Kong and Bangkok. He conducted the Austrian premiere of his opera Rostam and Sohrab at the Festspielhaus in St. Pölten.
