Fereydoun Jeyrani was born in 1951 in Kashmar. He began his artistic career in 1972 with performance in the stage production of a play titled The Chastity. In the same year he began his cinematic activities in the Free Cinema Group in Mashad.
He began his professional film career by writing the screenplay for The Liegemen directed by Mehdi Sabbaqzade. His feature films are The Ascension (1987), Red (1999), Water and Fire (2000), The Last Supper (2002) and Season Salad (2004).
